Katie Stone is a social science researcher who leads the Public Health and Social Policy team.
The Public Health and Social Policy team produce Harm Reduction International's biennial flagship publication, the Global State of Harm Reduction, undertakes literature reviews, mapping, and analysis for standalone topical reports and academic peer-reviewed articles.
Katie is a member of the Harm Reduction Working Group on Stimulants (including cocaine and its derivatives); an invited delegate at the Expert General Meeting on Stimulants; a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Viral Hepatitis and Substance Use Technical Advisory Group; an honorary Research Associate at the LSE International Drug Policy Unit; and a member of the Expert Group on Overdose as part of the Correlation European Harm Reduction Network.
Katie joined Harm Reduction International in 2014. Prior to this, she was with King’s College London undertaking research in palliative and end-of-life care at the Cicely Saunders Institute. Katie holds an MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, and a BA Joint Honours in Anthropology and Sociology from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
